Dear Member,

Yet another great club night which saw 35 members attending including 4 newbies who are all very welcome. The night started with an important announcement which I ask all members including those in attendance to make a note of please.

It is clearly obvious to us all that our little club is little no more and we have become the victims of our own success with 106 members (and growing) at every club night meeting.       Our current venue The Flying Horse and its owners Stuart and Michaela have been very good to us in the past for allowing us to use the barn and for that we will be eternally grateful. However, as we have now outgrown our present venue, your founder members have been busy looking for an alternative local venue that can fully meet the needs of our growing club and its membership. As a result of an exhaustive search we have now agreed that as from Monday  10th of October 2011 the new home of The IUC will be at The Elwick Club, Church Road, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1RD. Tel no 01233 620043. You will be pleased to hear that we have also negotiated free parking for our members whilst using the club's facilities which can be found directly opposite the club - see map. This prestigious location has a fully licensed bar and certainly meets our current needs and will continue to do so in the years to come. Our club nights will remain on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each and every month starting at 19.30 until 22.00. It is however with regret that as a result of this new development we will need to increase our member’s entrance fee to £2 which we hope you agree still represents excellent value for money.

This important move is a milestone in the history of The IUC and with your continued support your founders will work hard to ensure our club and its members continue to enjoy the world of ukulele music in an atmosphere of friendship and fun.  We very much look forward to seeing you on the 10th of October at The Elwick!

Kind regards to all,
